PISA

Pisa , one of the most important cities of Italy in the history , now can be visited in several hours.

When To Go :

We wouldn’t recommend in too hot summer days but it will be a tour only for several hours , so the weather is not a big issue.

How To Go :

There is an airport in Pisa but should be rarely direct flights. I was on the way back from La Spezia and took 1,5 hours by train from La Spezia to Pisa. I paid 8,10 euros for this ticket. You can visit https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html and check ticket prices and time schedules. While there is no confirmation coming to mail adress from website , you will have to buy the ticket at train station. One of the best thing in Italy is the train lines. Train stations are always in the center and they work so often that you can move inside Italy so quickly.

Note : If you go to Pisa from La Spezia , you can get off 1 station before Pisa Central Station or if you go from Florence , you can get of 1 station after Pisa Central Station at Pisa S. Rossore Station , so that you will walk much less to the main attractions.

Things To Do in Pisa :

A-) Square Of Miracles(Piazza Dei Miracoli) :

The places to see in Pisa is a complex actually , located in Square Of Miracles.

1-) Leaning Tower Of Pisa :

Pisa Tower is actually the bell tower of Pisa Cathedral. This is one of the most important place to see in Italy. It is the one that we take all these nonsensical photos with the tower but it is not only famous with its leaninig but also its beautiful architecture. If you dare to climb up the stairs to go up the tower , you will need to pay at least 20 euros , or you can buy a ticket for 27 euros which includes all ther places in the complex.

2-) Pisa Cathedral :

Pisa Cathedral is also an important place to see. Entrance is free , but tickets can be finished. Even if there is nobody inside , you may not get a free ticket from ticket Office.

3-) Pisa Baptistery :

As we know from before , next to cathedrals there is also baptistery and bell tower and cemetery. Pisa Baptistery is also a really beautiful bulding. If you would like to visit , you will need to pay 7 euros for entrance.

4-) Monumental Cemetery(Camposanto) :

Although it is a cemetery , it is actually a monumental building. A part of the cathedral complex. You can visit for 7 euros.

You can visit some other small museums in the complex but they are not so important. These are Cathedral Museum and Sinopie Museum. Putti Fountain and Romulus Sculpture also can be seen in the square.

In Pisa , Square Of Miracles is not the only place to see of course. You can visit Corso Italia , the main pedestrian street and also you can pass Arno River then you can arrive at Pisa Central Station.
