One of the most popular touristic destination of Thailand and the region is Phuket. Phuket Island , located on Andaman Sea , is very famous with its beaches.
When To Go :
It will be better to visit Phuket on November , December , January and February as other parts of Thailand.
How To Go :
There is Phuket International Airport(HKT) located in 35-40 mins from Patong. I used ferry to Phuket Rassada Pier from Phi Phi Don Island. Then i used Grab and found bike to Patong.
Where To Stay :
There are many areas and hotels , hostels to stay in Phuket but they seem quiet expensive compare to other parts of Thailand.
Places To See In Phuket :
1-) Patong Beach :
Most visited area in Phuket Island is Patong area and Patong Beach is the most visited are both in day and night time. There are also many activites on the beach side.
2-) Bangla Road :
Bangla Road is the main walking street full of with bars , pubs etc , located at the beginning of Patong Beach.
3-) Freedom Beach :
One of the most beautiful beaches of Phuket is Freedom Beach , only 15 mins by bike from Patong Beach. You can start your tour renting a bike for around 300-350 Baht per day. This seems the best way to travel around in Phuket Island.
4-) Karon Beach :
After another 15 mins from Freedom Beach , you can reach at Karon Beach , much quieter are compare to Patong , another popular beach.
5-) Kata Beach :
Only 3-4 mins away from Karon Beach , another beautiful beach is located ; Kata Beach and Kata Noi Beach. Kata Beach is also famous for surfing and Regatta Races.
6-) Cape Phrom Thep :
Best sunset in Phuket is in Cape Phrom Thep , it is located 10km from Kata Beach.
7-) Phuket Big Buddha :
It is one of the Buddha sculptures in Thailand. Located 15 km away from Cape Phrom Thep. You will have a great view and it is another option to watch sunset.
8-) Wat Chalong – Chaithararam Temple :
Wat Chalong , located 8 km from Big Buddha , is the most important temple in Phuket. Also there is a market area around the temple and must be visited. Entrance of temple is free.
Not : Some other places to see in Phuket Island ; Phuket Old City , Banana Beach , Nai Harn Beach and Kamala Beach.
SHOPPING
Phuket seems to be most expensive area in Thailand. That’s why i wouldn’t recommend shopping in Phuket but you can visit Jungceylon Shopping Center.
FOOD
I had a short time Phuket that i couldn’t visit many restarants but my first choice is Banzaan Market. On the other hand 7 Eleven Market’s are also everywhere and opened for 24 hors.
