TURIN

One of the richest 2 cities of Italy. Other one is Milan. City is located near Alps.

When To Go :

Of course it will be much better to visit Turin in Spring or Autumn but i had to visit in summer.

How To Go :

There is an airport in Turin under name of Turin Airport. I reach at Turin from Milan by a train. You can arrive at Turin Porta Nuova Train Station in 2 hours from Milan Central Station. Ticket will be cost 12,45 euros. While Turin center is not large , you seem not need to use a public transportation.

Where To Stay :

There are many hotels tos tay in Turin , especially next to train station. I found hotels in Turin cheaper than other cities. A nice room for 3 people was 90 euros per night.

What To Do in Turin :

I didn’t visit many places in Turin btut let’s explain the main places.

1-) Egyptian Museum Of Turin :

With the big amount of sarcophauguses and sculptures it contains , it is known as the second biggest Egyptian Museum in the world. If you are not much interested in Egpytian history , maybe the museum will not be a great choice to visit. Entrance fee is 18 euro.

2-) Mole Antonellina – National Museum Of Cinema :

It is the most important symbol of the city. It is a huge and beautiful tower , once used as a synagog and now it is in use as cinema museum. I didn’t visit the museum while i am not interested in cinema museum , it is closed on Tuesdays and entrance fee is 15 euro. If you would like to visit weekends , you will need to make a reservation.

3-) Turin Automobile Museum :

One of the most visited museum in Turin is Automobile Museum. While i visited automobile museums before , didn’t want to visit this. Also it is located in 1,5 hour distance by walk from center. Or else you can use train just 1 stop to Turin Lingotto Station and then walk another 30 mins. Entrance fee is 15 euro.

4-) Royal Palace Of Turin :

Another top visited place is the Royal Palace Of Turin which is located in Castello Square. Especially Armoury Section is quiet amazing. Park and Library Section also can be visited. Entrance fee is 15 euro.

5-) Basilica Of Superga :

It is the most visited church in Turin. While it is located on the top of the hill , you will need to use the cable car to go up to the basilica. You can visit it for free.

I can shortly explain other places to visit ; Famous square in Turin ; San Carlo Square , Castello Square , Vittorio Veneto Square. Valentino Park and Medieval Village ( not origininally ) inside the park , Royal Church Of St. Lawrence , The Basilica Of The Virgin Of The Consolation , Church Of Gran Madre De Dio which is similar to Pantheon in Rome. On the other hand you can have some walk next to River Po and also in Giuseppe Garibaldi Street. Allianz Stadium of Juventus also can be seen.

SHOPPING

Best places to shop in Turin can be main streets and Galleria San Federico. These streets can be Rome Street , Giuseppe Garibaldi Street and Statuo Square.

FOOD

I don’t have any place and dish to recommend in Turin but you can try some restaurants in Giuseppe Verdi Street next to Mole Antonelliana.

Note : 1 day seem to be enough for Turin.
