SURAT THANI

              Surat Thani is also another beautiful region and at the same time it is a junction. If you would like to go to Krabi or Phuket without airways , you will need to pass through Surat Thani.

When To Go :

                              Wherever you visit in Thailand , November – December – January and February seems the best season.

How To Go :

                            Surat Thani is a junction  , before i went to Krabi passing through Surat Thani. So there is train from Bangkok. This time i went from Phuket by bus. Actually there is not much to do in center of Surat Thani , islands in Thailand Bay are the important places to visit. For example , if you would like to go to Samui Island , you should first buy bus and ferry tickets together in Phuket. Bus will bring you directly to Don Sak Pier. On the other hand there is airport both in Surat Thani and Samui Island.

Where To Stay :

                          There are quite good and reasonable places to stay in the islands. I stayed in Samui Island , if you would like to be in a central area , you can prefer northern part of Samui near Fisherman’s Village , if you would like sth quiet , also maybe at the beach , you can choose east or west part of the island.

Places To See In Surat Thani :

                    1-) Samui Island :

                                    Samui is the biggest and most popular island in Surat Thani. Places to see here ; Fisherman’s Village , Chaweng Beach , Lamai Beach , Hin Ta & Hin Yai Rocks and Wat Phra Yai(Big Buddha Temple)… You can see all the island in 1-2 days renting a scooter.

                         2-) Pha-Ngan Island :

                                    Another popular island and second biggest of Surat Thani is Pha-Ngan Island. You can reach at island by ferry from Don Sak Pier or from Samui Island.

                        3-) Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park :

                                   This is an area consist of archipleago. You can have daily boat trips from Samui Island. 

                       4-) Khao Sok National Park :

                                   A famous place with its natural beauty , it also host one of the largest wildlife and many species. Located in the most western part of Surat Thani and transportation is a bit difficult. You can have some private tours to visit the area.

                                                                   FOOD

             1-) The Hungry Wolf :

                                         It is located in Samui Island. I can not assert it as a very special place but you can find many different kind of burgers in this place. Meat quality is high and prices are reasonable. We can not say that beef and lamb in Thailand is comparable to Turkiye.
